The Network of Experts on Sustainable Development is a network of more than 30 experts in different fields.
Network members: representatives of non-governmental organizations, academia, the private and public sectors.
The aim of the network is to bring together experts working with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the implementation of 4 activities: SDG monitoring and research, public interest representation and advocacy for political change, competence development and public involvement in the implementation of SDGs.
The idea of the Sustainable Development Goals Expert Network was born at the Sustainable Development Goals Localization Forum organized by the Ministry of Environment, "Kurk Lietuvai" and the NNVBO Platform on February 2019. During the discussions of the forum, together with the representatives of various sectors, the aim was to highlight the priority tasks of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Lithuania and the ways to integrate them in the state strategic planning. The results of the first SDG localization forum became a set of recommendations for the Office of the Government of the Republic of Lithuania, which was preparing the National Progress Program for 2021-2030.
