August 19 annually marks the International Day declared by the United Nations to honor humanitarian workers and commemorate those who lost their lives in humanitarian work in conflict situations. However, humanitarian work is not just a matter for the staff of international organizations. In certain situations, each of us can - and we have a responsibility - help people in distress.
